‘The Lap’

The beautiful ultra, 47mile/75K trail ultra. Open to both runners and walkers, you have 24 hours to circumnavigate England's largest and most iconic lake. Taking in all the best view points on some of the most runnable and flowing trails in The Lake District.

‘Windermere Marathon’

Often described as the friendliest and most beautiful UK marathon. This wonderful and undulating road marathon takes place every year in May. It’s a 26.2 mile anti-clockwise circuit of Windermere through the villages of Hawkshead, Newby Bridge, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside, finishing at Brathay Hall with stunning views over England’s largest lake. Over half the course is run on partially traffic-free roads or roads with a dedicated running lane. It has outstanding local support and, to top it all, you get to see the inspirational Brathay 10in10 runners completing their final marathon.
